How is my pathway organized?

Each self-study course consists of two or three successive levels (introductory, intermediate and advanced). Each course is made up of different pedagogical activities:

  • modules (course content) with associated training objectives,
  • mini-quizzes,
  • a certification test.

This is why you need to define an effective methodology beforehand, so that you can organize your training as effectively as possible and pass your final certification test with flying colors. The course modules are rich in content, so passing the certification test requires an excellent grasp of the various concepts and theories covered.

What's the best way to study online?

In order to support you effectively in your approach and organize your training in the best possible way, we propose the following methodology:

  1. I select a course module.
  2. I learn about the module's objectives (I'll be tested on how well I've achieved them at the end of the course).
  3. As I work my way through the module, I take notes, build up a list of key words and phrases, and check my knowledge of the terms in question, not only by consulting the glossary and the list of acronyms but also by researching them (on the Internet, for example). In this way, I can build up my own glossary of the most complicated terms. I can also print out parts of the course that I find difficult to understand or remember, and copy diagrams, images, pictograms and so on. I can also consult the COLEAD training manuals that cover the topics covered in the module, which are freely available in the e-library COLEAD (link to e-library)
  4. Once I've completed the module, I check whether I'm able to meet the module's objectives (I can, for example, question myself on each of the points set out and see if I'm able to answer), otherwise I return to the module. If I feel I have sufficient knowledge of the module's content, I tick the box opposite the module title to certify that I have completed my reading.
  5. I then test my knowledge by taking the mini-quiz associated with the module studied.
    • In the event of error(s), I take note of the corrections (I can make a note of the questions that I was unable to answer correctly, so that I can go into greater depth on these points by rereading the module).
    • If my result doesn't reach the average, I go back to the module to fill in the gaps, and take the mini-quiz again as soon as I feel up to it.
    • If I pass, I move on to the next module.
  6. Once I've completed all the modules and tested my knowledge with the mini-quizzes, I'll take part in the final certification test to obtain my certificate. The certification test will cover all the modules that make up the course I have chosen to follow.
  7. If I pass the test, my course certificate is available, along with my grade, and the key to the next level appears. I can also find all my certificates in my profile under "My certificates".
