Human resources management
Estimated duration : 13h30
In this Route, we are going to talk about Human Resource Management. Human resource management is the process of managing the life cycle of employees within an organization. Human resource management is involved in all stages of an employee's life in the organization, including entry and exit. In order to function, companies need personnel, if possible qualified personnel.
They cannot develop without the labour force or without the skills of the men and women who work there. This is what we call "human capital", to emphasize the value of those who make the company live, as important to manage a financial capital. To attract and retain a skilled workforce, horticultural businesses must develop complex strategies.
Human resource management is first and foremost to be considered from an operational perspective. It involves: Administering a staff that may be numerically important and divided into different levels of hierarchy or qualification: Payroll management, Labour law, Employment contracts, Promotion, benefits in kind, etc... It is then a matter of implementing the development of employees within the company: Career management, Job planning, Recruitment and training of employees, Conflict management, Social dialogue, Motivation and involvement of staff, Satisfaction and working conditions, etc... But Human Resource Management is not just that. It also involves improving cross-functional communication between departments and between processes.
It will be seen that Human Resource Management is therefore not limited to staff administration alone, even though this aspect of the function continues to be of vital importance to the company. Today, with all the rapid changes taking place inside and outside the company, job analysis and the definition of required competencies, skills management, recruitment programmes as well as the evaluation of people, are taking on a predominant role.
