What do the tests involve?

Two types of tests are available: qualifying tests and mini quizzes. These are available on the 'Course contents' page of each course. They are prefaced by the icon Icon test.

Mini quizzes have five questions for each module studied. You are only allowed two attempts.

Each qualifying test has 25 questions. You have 90 minutes to complete the test. The qualifying test can only be taken once. You must obtain at least 70% to obtain your certificate and be allowed to proceed to the next level. If you fail the test, you will not be allowed to take it again straight way, even if you go through every step of the course again. Therefore, you must be absolutely sure that your knowledge of the various modules is really sufficient. For this reason, you are strongly advised to read your notes again if you study the module over several consecutive days, and/or refer back to the modules if you have any doubts.

What kinds of questions are asked in the quizzes and qualifying tests, and how are the points awarded?

True-false:

This is a simplified form of multiple choice questions with two options. Only one answer is accepted: 'True' or 'False'.

You have 1 point when the answer is correct and 0 points when the answer is wrong.

Example:

QCM PIP

Multiple choice questions:

This type of question allows you to select one answer (example A) or several answers (example B) in a predefined list.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • 1 point when the answer(s) is/are correct,
  • a variable penalty when one or several of the answers chosen are wrong,
  • 0 when all of the answers are wrong,
  • a percentage of points that is proportional to the number of correct answers given (0.5 points if two answers are correct out of four).

Example A – One answer may be selected:

QCM PIP

Example B – One or several answers may be selected:

QCM PIP

Cloze test:

This exercise consists in filling in the missing words – the blanks – in a sentence, by selecting the right word in a list of predefined possibilities. The list appears when you select a 'blank'. A word of caution: the words proposed may not fit into the sentence grammatically (singular/plural, etc.). Moreover, there may be more words than blanks. In this case, certain words should not be used.

You have 1 point when the answer is correct and 0 points when the answer is wrong.

Example:

QCM PIP

Matching:

The answer to each subsidiary question must be chosen among a list of predefined possibilities.

  • Points are awarded as follows:
  • 1 point when the answer(s) is/are correct,
  • 0 when the answer(s) is/are wrong,
  • a percentage of points that is proportional to the number of correct answers given (0.5 points if two answers are correct out of four)

Example:
