  Who this training is for and what you will learn  

  • Company : farm manager | horticulture producer | production manager | crop protection manager | harvest manager | quality and traceability manager  

At the end of this training, you will be able to:

  •   Distinguish GLOBALGAP certification option I from option II to be able to choose the relevant one for the company   
  •   Describe the working of an ICS (Internal Control system) and QMS (Quality Management System) in the option II   
  •   Distinguish internal inspections/internal audits from external inspections by certification bodies   
  •   Estimate the equipment, processes, budget and human resources implications of GLOBALG.A.P. implementation and certification   
  •   Apply the compliance criteria of the GLOBALG.A.P. checklists for individual farms and for QMS auditing   
  •   Define National Technical Working Group (NTWG) and National Interpretation Guideline (NIG)

  •   To be eligible, companies should be active partners of COLEAD's MAHEBER programme.  Companies who have not yet registered for MAHEBER, will be required to do so before the start of the training (application link)

Logistical conditions

 Here you will find the conditions for participant coverage by the beneficiary organization and by COLEAD according to the Cost-sharing Principle agreed in the development project.  
For the proper conduct of the training, participant attendance is mandatory from the first to the last day of training. Costs incurred due to the absence of registered participants will be charged to their company (meals, coffee breaks and possible accommodation). It is important that each participant fully commits and participates actively. The benefit they will derive from this training depends on it. All participants must respect the schedules indicated in the detailed training program and/or specified by the trainer(s). All participants, without exception, must sign a daily attendance list. Training certificates will be provided only to participants who attend the entire training.
In some training sessions, COLEAD materials and training materials will be provided to you. These documents will be useful in your daily activities and in improving good practices. We ask you to keep them carefully and make them available to your organization and staff.
The support provided by COLEAD to beneficiary companies and organizations is based on a policy of costs shared between these beneficiaries and COLEAD.On this basis, COLEAD will cover:
  • Training costs (room and equipment rental, training materials, trainer fees);
  • Meal costs for all training days;
  • Accommodation costs under certain conditions and for the training period (see point 8).
Participants will not receive any per diem or other allowance from COLEAD. The beneficiary organization will directly cover:
  • All other expenses that may be necessary (transportation, overnight stay and/or meals before and/or after training, etc.).
  • Any extras (internet and telephone connections, taxi, etc...). Therefore, please provide extra money or a credit card to cover these possible expenses.
  • Logistics and transportation costs for the expert-coach during the coaching phase (in the case of practical exercises carried out within your organization and benefiting from individualized coaching
Only participants who have received prior confirmation of participation from COLEAD will benefit, and within the limit of services reserved by COLEAD and detailed below:
  • During training days, all participants will be served within the training center: a morning and afternoon coffee break, as well as lunch.
ONLY for participants for whom COLEAD has given prior agreement, strictly within the limits of services reserved by COLEAD.
For participants located far from the training venue, and only with prior agreement from COLEAD. COLEAD may directly cover the half-board accommodation costs of participants, under the following conditions:
  • During training days, these participants will be accommodated in half-board at the training center/hotel selected by COLEAD. This includes overnight stay, breakfast and dinner.
  • Accommodation will be provided from the evening before the training until the morning after the end of the training.
  • Participants must comply with the services reserved by COLEAD.
  • Any extras (bar, telephone, ...) must be paid directly by the participant.
  • Any cost incurred by a late departure will be charged to the participant and/or their organization.
ONLY for participants for whom COLEAD has given prior agreement, strictly within the limits of services reserved by COLEAD..
Transportation costs for the participant are the responsibility of the company. Please make the necessary arrangements for your participant to attend the training. Reimbursement procedures will be explained in the logistics note that will be sent upon confirmation of participation.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE VALIDLY REGISTERED AFTER WRITTEN CONFIRMATION FROM US AND RECEIPT OF THIS LOGISTICS NOTE. ONLY PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION OF THEIR PARTICIPATION WILL BE AUTHORIZED TO ATTEND THE TRAINING.
 
SECURITY :
The companies and the participants confirm that they have assessed the security situation in the area of intervention and acknowledge the potential risks associated with the field visit to an avocado orchard. They undertake to take all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the safety of their personnel, equipment, and property. Responsibility for security rests solely with the companies and the participants. They expressly release COLEAD and the funding partners from any liability for any incident, damage, loss, or injury, whether direct or indirect, arising during or in connection with the implementation of the training.
This course offers certification. To obtain it you must pass a final exam and achieve a score of at least 75%. To promote the best learning conditions, the number of participants for each training is limited. Therefore, you will be asked to register only if you commit to following the training in its entirety (daily attendance, activities to be carried out, etc.). Candidates who have diligently attended the course sessions will be given priority for future training and will receive a certificate of participation. Conversely, COLEAD reserves the right to refuse candidates for subsequent training if participation is deemed insufficient. In the event that the number of participants is insufficient to ensure the proper conduct of a training, COLEAD reserves the right to postpone or cancel a training. Thank you for your understanding.

Who will train you?

We are pleased to welcome Moses Miatu, a Registered GLOBAL.G.A.P. Trainer. As a consultant and trainer, he has aided several horticulture companies achieve or maintain GLOBALG.A.P. certification. He has technical experience working with horticulture companies in East Africa, and knowledge of good agriculture practices. He has facilitated COLEAD trainings on various topics such as GLOBALG.A.P. SPRING addon. .
