GLOBALG.A.P. Standard (Modalities and Checklist)

This training is implemented by COLEAD as part of the MAHEBER Programme (Mobilising Actors in Horticulture for Entrepreneurship and Boosting Ethiopian Resilience), funded by the European Union through the EU Delegation to Ethiopia).

Who this training is for and what you will learn

At the end of this training, you will be able to:
- Distinguish GLOBALGAP certification option I from option II to be able to choose the relevant one for the company
- Describe the working of an ICS (Internal Control system) and QMS (Quality Management System) in the option II
- Distinguish internal inspections/internal audits from external inspections by certification bodies
- Estimate the equipment, processes, budget and human resources implications of GLOBALG.A.P. implementation and certification
- Apply the compliance criteria of the GLOBALG.A.P. checklists for individual farms and for QMS auditing
- Define National Technical Working Group (NTWG) and National Interpretation Guideline (NIG)
To ensure a successful learning experience, please review the course prerequisites before registering.
- To ensure the best learning conditions, the number of participants in each course is limited. Therefore, kindly register if you are committed to following the entire course. Participants who have attended the course sessions regularly will be given priority for future courses and will receive an attestation of attendance. On the other hand, COLEAD reserves the right to refuse participants from subsequent training courses in case of insufficient participation. If the number of participants is insufficient to ensure the smooth running of a course, COLEAD reserves the right to postpone or cancel a course.
The simplified training programme will be sent to you, upon selection to participate in the training.
Logistical conditions
- Training costs (room and equipment rental, training materials, trainer fees);
- Meal costs for all training days;
- During training days, all participants will be served within the training center: a morning and afternoon coffee break, as well as lunch.
- During training days, these participants will be accommodated in half-board at the training center/hotel selected by COLEAD. This includes overnight stay, breakfast and dinner.
- Accommodation will be provided from the evening before the training until the morning after the end of the training.
- Participants must comply with the services reserved by COLEAD.
- Any extras (bar, telephone, ...) must be paid directly by the participant.
- Any cost incurred by a late departure will be charged to the participant and/or their organization.
- By air, in economy class, with an exchangeable and refundable ticket only
- Via public transport (bus, train, taxi)
- By personal vehicle (if no other alternative is possible and always favoring carpooling as much as possible)
Who will train you?
We are pleased to welcome Moses Miatu, a Registered GLOBAL.G.A.P. Trainer. As a consultant and trainer, he has aided several horticulture companies achieve or maintain GLOBALG.A.P. certification. He has technical experience working with horticulture companies in East Africa, and knowledge of good agriculture practices. He has facilitated COLEAD trainings on various topics such as GLOBALG.A.P. SPRING addon.

Samson Meaza is conversant with the Ethiopian horticulture sector having worked as an auditor for various standards, including the GLOBAL.G.A.P standard. She has worked as a farm manager and as a production manager for agro-companies in Ethiopia.
